Las Torres is a luxury villa finished in November 2007 to a very high standard and furnished by local interior designer, Shane Williams. All mod cons but with a flavour of the past including beautiful reclaimed roof tiles from Granada and heavy antique timber doors at the main entrance onto the street. One of its most attractive features is a series of curved arches around the spiral staircase running through the house.
The layout of the villa has been carefully planned to maximize privacy and flexibility. There are 3 bedrooms (two doubles and one twin), and each is well separated from the others. The principal bedroom (super king size double) with en-suite bathroom (bath & walk in shower) is on the lower level adjacent to the heated swimming pool. The twin-bedded room with an en-suite shower room is on the same level but situated on the other side of a 2nd sitting room. The third bedroom (double) is located in a “tower“ with an en-suite shower room and its own roof terrace. All mattresses and bed linen are top quality
The main living area comprises a very spacious open plan living/dining room with adjacent open plan kitchen and has spectacular views to Salobreña castle, the sea and also the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada. There is also a guest cloakroom near the living room. Glazed doors lead out from the dining area to a large terrace partially shaded by a wooden pergola, with magnificent views and privacy.
Steps lead down to the pool terrace below, where there is an exotic succulents garden, the heated pool, and a large terrace. Steps from here lead down to a lower garden area planted with fruit trees (bananas, oranges, lemons, mandarins, mangoes, avocadoes, grapefruit and olives).
Amongst the fixtures, fittings and amenities at the villa are a private heated swimming pool (Guaranteed minimum 80ºF/27ºC), air conditioning, digital satellite TV with all BBC TV & radio stations and the other free to air satellite channels, DVD player, telephone and a PC with wireless (can connect your own wi fi laptop if you wish) adsl broadband connection, portable music system, safe, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, water softener, R/O water purifier (pure drinking water from a tap in the kitchen - no need to buy heavy water bottles!), washing machine, tumble dryer, child's cot, Outdoor Chef gas barbecue, six sun loungers, table tennis table in separate games room, outdoor eating area with seating for 6. And for comfortable winter use Las Torres has under-floor heating throughout, powered mainly by solar energy! Telephone calls are charged at the actual costs of call charges so if the telephone is not used there is no charge.
Las Torres has luxurious accommodation and amenities for 6 people but also satisfies the needs of the environment as it is one of very few properties where hot water, space heating and pool heating are all largely powered by solar energy with just a little help in mid winter from an energy efficient heat pump. Also the irrigation for the fruit trees uses re-cycled biologically treated waste-water from the villa.
The Monte de los Almendros community recreation area with 2 swimming pools, a hard tennis court and grassed small football pitch is just a few minutes walk from the villa. Access is free to Torres visitors.
The swimming pool and plants are looked after by our friendly gardener Ramon. He will be about from time to time as necessary but will not be obtrusive. Fresh bed linen and indoor towels are provided each week. The property is very well equipped for a self catering villa holiday and all of the furnishings and equipment in the villa were bought new towards the end of 2007.
Please note: We have finished and furnished this villa with the help of a professional interior designer to a much higher standard than most rental villas and would like to keep it in as "new condition" for as long as possible. With this in mind we regret it is not available for parties with pets or young children (Under 10) and also we have a strict no smoking policy inside the villa. Also we should mention that whilst the front door is close to street level there are no bedrooms at this level so the villa is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or anyone else who cannot manage stairs. We have been resident here in Spain since 1988 and provide a lot of info on local activities for our guests. We particularly enjoy walking in the hills above Las Torres and in "Las Alpujarras" (foothills of the Sierra Nevada) and we make many day trips to the excellent snow skiing (just 60 mins by car from the villa). There are plenty of other activities in the area and there is a particularly good choice of excellent value local restaurants and tapas bars!

Additional Electricity charge. The swimming pool has an excellent solar heating system with thermal cover and from April to October we guarantee will always be around 27ºC/80ºF without any additional pool heating costs. Even in mid winter it will usually be warm enough for swimming (around 21ºC/70ºF) and on request can also be heated further with an energy efficient heat pump at an additional cost. Las Torres has underfloor heating throughout powered by dedicated solar panels that also provide the hot water and even in mid winter the villa will be warm most evenings. If the sun does not shine as it should then the aircon units can also provide warm air. Note from November to March inclusive all electricity consumed will be charged at cost (0.16 euros per Kw)
Winter discounts: During the winter period discounts are available for longer stays: 3 weeks -10%, 4+ weeks -15%, 6+ weeks -20%. At these reduced rates fresh linen is not provided but a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron are!
